IGA Worldwide, an independent distributor of in-game advertising, has announced a multi-year agreement with Activision to deliver dynamic in-game ads into multiple games on the PS3. The first game to feature IGA integrated ads will be Guitar Hero: World Tour. This is the second publisher deal announced by IGA since PS3 opened its platform for in-game advertising.

“Our partnership with IGA will allow us to deliver dynamic in-game advertising to the growing PlayStation Network community for the first time,” said Dave Anderson, head of business development at Activision Publishing. “By incorporating dynamic in-game advertising in our titles where it is appropriate, we can increase the realism of our games by presenting consumers with authentic environments in genuine settings, while also expanding a key growth opportunity for the company.”

IGA and Activision will integrate advertisements in a “contextually relevant way.” The ads will be updated in real time, and will be targeted to the broad demographics Guitar Hero can reach.

My opinion: A Dual-Core CELL Broadband Based platform with a total of 16 SPE’s (8 SPE’s per Core) with 1GB of Unified XDR Memory Bus  with 512MB of GDDR 3 Dedicated Video Ram and a 8X Blu-Ray Drive (12x to 16X  by the time we come upon year 2011) along with a 160GB Sata II 2.5 Drive would be a great configuration.

Currently IBM has a PowerXCell 8i Processor running in around 6GHZ, The Playstation 3 does fully support both Sata I and II queries commands. However because of its currently controller chip-set it’s limited to data transfers up to 150MB burst per sec. When compared to SATA II 300MB burst per sec.

TGS is going to be a pretty big show for Sony. The PS3 has gone from strength to strength this year, with great showings at E3 and Leipzig, but it looks like the best might be yet to come. Sony Japan has sent out a press release detailing its show floor lineup for the Japanese event, which takes place between the 9th and the 12th of October. In addition to this year’s big releases, such as LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and Home, Sony are listing 11 unannounced games.

Nine of these are being published by SCEJ, one is by Irem (R-Type developers) and one is from Konami. While we suspect some of these games will be ones we’ve heard of before (White Knight Story and some PSN titles, for example), there’s little doubt that there will be new games being announced at the show. Maybe Team ICO will finally reveal what they’ve been working on? As for Konami, we’ve no idea what they’ve got planned — it could be a DDR title, it could be Metal Gear Solid Existence. We’ll be there to let you know as soon as we find out. Check out Sony’s full exhibition list after the break.
